“Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hostility.” Romans 12:13
Tabitha, also known as Dorcas, was a disciple who was lauded for her “good works” (Acts 9:36). Likewise, it is the goal of the Hospitality team at First United to reflect kindness to our visitors, friends, and saints; also, individuals in the community, at all times.
First United Church believes that everyone, including unbelievers are important and strives to ensure a friendly and courteous atmosphere, so that all will feel welcome in the house of the Lord. Further, the hospitality team models compassion during their encounters with individuals, reflective of the embodiment of “love,” a command given by God (John 13:34-35).
Other trade mark services of the team include preparing meals for special church functions and catering milestone events (upon request) for significant occasions, relative to saints. Also, willingly preparing and assisting with the distribution of food baskets for the saints, as well as individuals in the community; thus, not being “weary in well doing” (Galatians 6:9), for the work of the Kingdom.
