Evangelist Monica Watson

Evangelist Watson has been saved since 1974, under the leadership of Bishop D.W. Thompson, pastor of Bethlehem United Church (BUC) Apostolic in Toronto, Canada. While there, Evangelist Watson served in various capacities, including Sunday School teacher of the Primary and Adult classes, and Senior Choir member. Years later, under the leadership of Pastor A. Dixon at the Scarborough BUC location, she served as the Sunday School Superintendent and local Women’s President for fourteen years. Additionally, she served as the District Assistant Women’s President for a short period of time.

Regardless of her location, her passion for ministry, and love for the people of God has been unyielding. After relocating to Kissimmee, Florida in 1997, she became a member of First United Church of Jesus Christ, Apostolic, under the leadership of then Pastor A. Wright and now Pastor H. Carpenter. She served for 8 years as the local Youth President, which was rewarding, as she witnessed the transformation in the lives of the young people.  In addition, Evangelist Watson served as a choir member and Choir Director.  As the Lord continued to elevate her, she was appointed to serve as the Assistant Women’s President; thereafter, Women’s President, a position she held for nearly 10 years.

Other ministry responsibilities included lead Evangelist, leader in charge in the absence of the Pastor, Adult Class Sunday School teacher, kitchen staff leader, and other areas of ministry as the need arose. No position or responsibility was off-limits for this woman of God. She exemplifies a servant leader in every aspect of her ministry.

In December 2016, Evangelist Watson was ordained as the Assistant Pastor of First United-Kissimmee by Bishop Leslie Barnes, former Diocesan of the United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic, Inc. Despite various health challenges, she continues to hold fast the profession of her faith without wavering (Hebrews 10:23); and, her faithfulness and availability to the work of the ministry continues.

She and her husband of close to 50 years, Deacon Andrew Watson, continues to serve in the ministry with the heart and passion of kingdom builders.
